Custom Furniture

We can bring together any combination of painting techniques along with traditional staining and shellacing. Ethnic patterning, artistic movements, and historical periods are drawn upon to give each piece it's own rich sense of uniqueness. Ordinary unfinished furniture can be transformed into a funky childrens piece, faux distressed to look like an antique family heirloom, or decorated with any imagery, pattern or color pallette imaginable. All painted furniture is sealed in varnish or butcher's wax to protect both the piece and the artwork.

Any size, shape, style, or subject matter! Brainstorming of concepts or ideas, along with ample reference material are the starting point of any mural. Here, any concerns or specific wishes the client may have are adressed and factored into the composition. All input is welcome, but a complete vision of the final product is by no means necessary to a successful mural project

Faux Finishes

Faux finish originally refered to a fake marble stone or wood pattern, faux meaning false in French painting, but has come to encompass any painted finish that beguiles it's actual surface. Straightforward ragging or sponging are options but a brush/drybrush technique hides all marks of the hand at work, giving the impression of a pre-existing entity. Custom color combinations utilize hues already present in the room such as floors, window treatments or furniture.

Trompe l'eoil, a term from the French meaning "to fool the eye" is a form of painting where the intention is to render an object to look as if it is present in its three dimensional form. a light source and cast shadow consistent with the setting are included to complete the illusion. Trompe l'eoil allows whimsical decoration with objects otherwise impractical or unattainable.
